I can’t stress the excellent service from this company – they guided and challenged our initial needs to ensure we were thinking of all options. That resulted in us changing our minds on the type of campervan to suit our needs which has transformed what we have now purchased. The build quality is exceptional and the Ford Transit is a worthy vehicle delivering an exceptional driving experience.

My only advice is to go check Autocampers out as it has something very different to offer compared to other companies out there.

Our campervan journey started about a year ago, when we visited Auto Campers just before the February NEC show. A visit to the show and visits to other local dealers confirmed that we wanted a Transit Custom model, and we returned to Auto Campers a few times to discuss options and finally order our van. We decided on an ex-demonstrator Ford, converted to the Auto Camper’s Classic model with some additional specifications and we collected ‘Luna’ in July last year. Steve talked us through all of the options, provided a comprehensive vehicle handover and the team were brilliant when we had some re-registration (don’t even go there!) and minor mechanical issues.

I never pictured myself driving a van, but use Luna as my everyday vehicle. Yes we have to deal with a few height restrictions in local car parks, but still being able to fit in a standard car park space is great. We have enjoyed our adventures so far and are impressed with the build quality and equipment in the van. We’re just waiting for the weather to improve to hit the road again. Huge thanks to all at Auto Campers for your help, advice and ongoing after sales service.

Autocampers are extremely helpful without being at all pushy. Their vans are fun and flexible and offer something different to the standard vw conversion.

So I always like to have a product for a while before I review and it’s now been just over 12 months since we bought ‘Harry’ our Auto Campers Leisure van from new. Before I go on this is an independent review and I speak as I find. Both Jane and I have now travelled in our high line van for over 12 months in the UK racking up 7000 miles as I still work. We vlog our travels and go under the name of Getaway Geese on YouTube. We have been blown away how much Harry has changed our life the sense of excitement when we get a chance to go away – Ireland Atlantic Way this year for us.

The Ford custom for us is a fantastic drive and after 12 months I can honestly say it’s a pleasure to drive and even better for us the automatic but I like the 170ps version as it pulls so well. Being a SWB we can park in any normal slot and being a high top we have yet to have any issue with barriers etc. One to consider versus a pop top and one that Steve opened our eyes to and we ended up changing our mind. Design and choose is a personal one but as in our van review video and our first pick up video Steve guided us through the options and considerations and spent as much time as we wanted. He even encouraged us to take time and look at competitive builds so he was very comfortable in the strength of his product.

The actual fit out work is top notch and the double door design and both swivel front seats really opens the space. The fact you have 2 sliding doors on ours allows us to access the kitchen from the outside which we have used and will use more as we venture into hotter climates in Europe. The storage on the hi line we have is superb and the bed for two is good in fact Jane says she gets a better sleep in Harry than home. We have added a mattress topper and a couple of side pockets to parts of the van to allow our phones to be kept out the way but that is all. As for issues we had a minor electrical issue that Steve helped over the phone diagnose and was always available and easily rectified with no fuss – so after sales has been a good experience. If nothing else you should at least look and compare as it in my opinion is larger and cheaper than an equivalent VW and for me a better design especially the hi top that looks part of the vehicle rather than item plonked on top. Compared to other custom builds this is good value in my opinion.

If you are unsure you can always rent for a while as Highland Autocampers rent out a vans. We actually met Mark & Alicia when we went to Scotland and one of our videos tells their story – again I am saying this independently as when I was looking i thrived on this sort of knowledge and Scotland is a great place to effectively test if it is for you.

We have been in contact with Steve & his team in Reading & Mark & Alicia in Inverness for some months which culminated in a meeting at the NEC last Oct, where we bought our van, nothing but positive feedback for the team, picked up our new LWB HIGHLINE LEISURE VAN last week, love it, great quality vans & conversions, looking forward to our adventures in the coming years.
